I like how they developed the characters in movie, including their looks. The good thing about the movie, however, is that they really gave justice to their “throwback theme” and made it just like a virtual time machine for the viewers. So just think of it, 200 pesos for a one-hour, not-so-excellent film? How about a big no? We went out of the cinema disappointed, maybe because the movie wasn’t worth our 200 pesos, considering that it was just a one-hour film. The movie lacked some scenes from the book, while some scenes that are not from the book were added to the film. Yes, they showed some of the things I have read and made me say, “I’ve read that part.” I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but it only made the viewers appreciate the book more than the film.

Since the movie was adapted from a bestselling book, everyone (including me) is expecting that the movie would come close to the book’s charm.

The movie ABNKKBSNPLAko?!, directed by Mark Meily, was adapted from Bob Ong’s bestselling book, ABNKKBSNPLAko?! (Mga Kwentong Chalk ni Bob Ong) with Jericho Rosales as Roberto Ong, the main character with his BFFs, Vandolph Quizon and Meg Imperial and of course Andi Eigenmann as “Special Someone”. No, it’s not Thursday, but a time for reminiscing the 80s, 90s and our high school days. It seems like somebody’s shouting this inside the cinema as soon as the film started. “You know what it is! It’s Throwback time!”
